Dancer the Chihuahua, The World's Smallest Dog
Smaller than any pooch I've ever seen, this is Dancer, a long-haired Chihuahua who may hold the world's record for being the smallest dog.
The whopping canine weighs in at a mighty 18 ounces and stands just about 4 inches tall.
Awww.
The owner of the pup, Jenny Gomes, lets Dancer play in a restricted playpen and typically pushes him around in a stroller, so as to avoid injury from other animals due to his small size.
Veterinarians were initially concerned about the long-term prognosis of Dancer, due to his small stature. Gomes decided to keep dancer, and his only health problem has been low blood sugar, which is readily remedied by small meals and snacks throughout the day.
The World Record cannot be claimed until June 8, when Dancer will turn 1-year-old and enjoy a birthday party.
Asked if she would ever sell her puppy, Gomes said, "No way. You don't sell love."
