RIP Charlton Heston

A great actor has passed away. Charlton Heston died tonight with his wife of 64 years at his side. He will be remembered for movies such as Ben Hur, Planet of the Apes and The Omega Man.

A lot of people don't know that early in his career, he was one of a handful of Hollywood actors to publicly speak out against racism and was active in the civil rights movement. During the latter part of his movie career, he starred in films such as The Omega Man, as you mentioned, and Soylent Green, which have a strong environmental message.
And who could forget Moses as well as The Ten Commandments.

He was also and advocate to and the main spokesperson for the NRA - one of the largest lobbyist groups on Capitol Hill that fight for our constitutional rights to continue to bear arms.

And a "star" in every sense of the word.
