Brave Jack Russel Terrier Saves Kids From Two Pit Bulls

In a story that features true heroism and tragedy, a small Jack Russell Terrier is being credited with protecting the life of five children from two prowling pit bulls.

The dog, George, was reportedly playing with a group of children who were walking home. Out of nowhere, two pit bulls tore down upon the children and the little Terrier, not even a foot tall, took up a defensive.

One of the kids indicated the dog specifically saved his younger 4-year-old brother:

"George tried to protect us by barking and rushing at them, but they started to bite him — one on the head and the other on the back."

While George distracted and fought with the pit bulls, the kids were able to run and escape a potential mauling.

Onlookers were able to eventually respond and save George, himself, but by that point the little terrier had suffered so much damage it was necessary to put him to sleep.

More and more I've noticed people are getting pretty careless keeping their pets properly restrained. It's getting pretty ridiculous around where I live. Pets are a responsibility, act like it.
